sweet，suite
 

　　这两个字的拼法虽然不同，但读音却完全相同，都读/swi: t/，因此，它们是一对同音异义词(homonym)。
 

　　Sweet可以用作名词和形容词。作名词时常用复数;英国人用sweets，美国人用candies。意思是“甜品”、“糖果”。
 

　　People like to have sweets as the dessert.

　　人们在餐后喜欢吃点糖果作为餐后的甜食。
 

　　作形容词时，其意为“甜蜜的”、“芳香的”。例：
 

　　This milk tastes sweet.

　　这奶尝起来有点甜味。
 

　　请注意，sweet milk是“新鲜牛奶”; sweetened milk 是“加糖的牛奶”，都不是表示“甜奶”之意。
 

　　Suite只能用作单数，意思是“一套房间”、“一套家具”或“一组乐曲”。例：
 

　　We should like a suite and a single room.

　　我们要租一套套房和一个单人房。
 

　　We bought a three-piece suite consisting of a settee，an armchair and a coffee table.

　　我们买了一套三件的家具，包括一张长靠椅、一张扶手椅及一张矮茶几。
